Salutations friends,
Its been a slow and groggy week, filled with personal and societal illness. Going through the motions is not my favorite experience, but one day at a time.
I made a pledge to myself to keep to a new content schedule. Every week, new content to the ChaoticanWriter.com site.
Its EOD Friday, so I still have tomorrow to wrap everything up in a tight bow!
However, while this week was intended to be a humble add-on to the Random Name Generator inventory on the site, I jumped head-first into a problem solving episode and incessant period of detail that I couldn’t stop myself.
It was as tedious as it was distracting and relaxing.
Do those emotions even co-exist? I dunno.
But take a look at this monster!

Sorry. That’s a Beholder.
I meant this monster!

And this is only a fraction!
When I set out to create a Planet Name Generator, I thought simple at first. I figured “Why not just get a bunch of mythological, historical, locational, and conceptual worlds and put them in a single list?”
Boy I was wrong! I took a look at that thing and said “This is not enough!”
It has to be themed! … It has to be a whole array of meaningful names relevant to the kind of planet! … It has to be clever! … AND … it has to account for compound word fragments.
And then, I realized it was too big for one Planet Name Generator.
What have I done?
I mean, wouldn’t me releasing ELEVEN random name generators in one go be a content godsend? Wouldn’t it be a treasure trove for naming ideas? I could even write up and link some sources and resources for learning about what the mythological or conceptual names mean.
I could… if it wasn’t all collected in a truly honest and inspired, but chaotic manner.
Its so elaborate, its almost educational by default of “Wow! What a great name… I wonder what it means! What deity is that? What does THAT word mean?”.
Its a shame though. We’re far and away from the holidays, otherwise I’d make it a cheesy promo thing like… The 12 Days of Planetmus! (pending one more)
If I did that, I’d have nothing to drop this week.
…
Shooot!
…
This is why I need to have content ready in the backlog.
Anyhow, I might give myself a busy day tomorrow to see if I can put out something in short order if not the Planet Name Generator. … That or I could just stick to the original plan, and put out just one of the… eleven?
Then I would have ten for… Planetmus. Hmm.
Decisions to make.
BUT… this is a good problem to have!
More to come from this post once I have executed that decision on 11/10/2024.
