TTRPG and Worldbuilding Glossaries are LIVE!
The knowledge-base migration continues! … Now, you too can access both my TTRPG Glossary, and the Writing and Worldbuilding Glossary from the brand new Odd Fair Press site!
There is still a long way to go to a fully filled library of vocabulary, so don’t forget to continue tuning in each Dungeon Delve issue to see the sage’s personal lexicon grow.
Here are this weeks terms:
Advantage - A dice mechanic providing a player the benefit of an increased chance of success by rolling an additional die and using the higher roll.
Hit Points (HP) - A representation of a characters health, resistance to harm, or closeness to death, often times represented by a number, slots, or tally compared against a maximum value.
BBEG - A term standing for “Big Bad Evil Guy/Gal”, representing an overarching antagonist pulling the strings and creating conflict within a setting and against the protagonists.
Point-of-view - Often abbreviated to POV, representing the perspective of which a story or scene is told from, whether a named character, local observer, narrator, or other viewpoint.
Constructed Language - Often shorted to Conlang, a fictional language spoken and/or written by the denizens of the story world, or by a region or peoples (Examples: Elvish, Klingon, Dothraki, Huttese, etc)

For the Daggerheart players and enthusiasts, Darrington Press revealed the cover artwork and release date to the first expansion book, Hope and Fear, to the new and beloved RPG.
If you’re a Steam gamer, every now and then there are fun tools that come out that may prove to be helpful in creating resources or handouts for games (albeit non-commercially). Scriptorium is a fun little game and tool for designing medieval-style manuscripts, whether for a cozy experience, creative release, or fun way to throw a handout together for your game!
You’ll notice that I didn’t mention, and nearly slept through the Dungeon Crawler Carl hype these past weeks. … Its a game about aliens taking over the earth and turning it into a game show dungeon. Read GameRants thing on the game here!

Luke Hart over at The DMs Lair takes a dive into the matter of using taverns as the starting point in campaigns, why they’ve been so versatile a location,… but also throwing the trope against the wall and proposing completely different locations which one may start their journey!
Holy crap! So, I’ve done a lot of world building and map making for tabletop projects, and every now and then you come across a resource which makes you completely rethink how you place cities and build civilizations! … The Grainbound released a video that highlights the nuances map-making,… not just how geography affects where things go, but the interrelationship that allows it all to make sense!
