I. Prologue of the Sage
Hours to days, days to weeks. A scholars tunnel-vision, scavenging countless papers, old manuscripts, fragile parchment, and horribly transcribed scrolls.
The resting place of the ancient King of Fools had been considered lost. The sage believed different, and now... knows different.
The final evidence of the tombs whereabouts in hand, a moment of youth surge through the sage, a dance followed by a painful pulling of back muscles. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably have heard multiple times about the so-called “reciprocal tariffs” imposed by the current Trump administration on imports of almost every product, from all over the world, into the US. I could start a political rant, but I will try to restrain myself and keep the focus on facts and their expected impact on all “stakeholders” of the gaming industry – publishers, distributors, retailers and gamers.
The argument isn’t that systems are pointless, but rather that their importance can be significantly eclipsed by the human factors driving the game: the story being told, the people telling it, the bonds between them, and the very reason they gathered to play in the first place.
