I. Meanwhile, in the Haunted Library

A foreward.

The sages nose twitches.

"Endless tomes. Eternal youth. A masquerade of beauty and whimsey. You need only step forward, my dear. There are no forbidden fruit within my court. Only trees full of ripe, colorfu..."The sage sneezes. Once. Twice. Thrice putting hand up toward the fae lord. The lords eyes peer, first a graceful gold, then a haunting and fierce yellow.

"E-excuse m-" the sage lets out another sneeze. "I don't m-mean to be rude. I can't leeeeave my c-c-colleagues behin... My word!"

--------------------------

"They're sneezing quite an awful lot for being smelling salts. Are you sure you grabbed the right vial?" the paladin weighed into the thief, who exchanged a nervous chuckle.

The sage burst up from their trance with a massive single sneeze, lacing their beard with sinus ugliness, along with the faces of their companions. The wisps surrounding them halt at once as the sage blinks, laying eyes upon compatriots with a smile. Then, the orbs glow a sanguine red, an angry buzzing filling the air.

The thief gulps. "We have to go..."

We made it!! … Its issue #10 of Dungeon Delve! … While the journey has only been for the first couple months of 2025, the experience has been energizing! Seeing the influx of subscribers, the various submissions, questions, and comments, I’m incredibly touched by the reception.

Each week has been its own little experiment testing the boundaries of what readers enjoy. Its been slowly gaining a personality; one that resembles a great showman on a stage in the town market. Someone who’s not afraid to weave some tales, and matchmake their audience with some recent news and fantastic finds!

That being said, the work to discover Dungeon Delve is not finished. The goal is to fashion it to the best of what you… the reader wants! … More storytelling? More town heralding? More back alley deal making? Perhaps other classifieds, finds, resources, or more?

!!! —- You can make Dungeon Delve even BETTER by providing feedback! —- !!!

Also, Chaotican Writer just dropped a new article on the main site! … Nerds & Knights: a TTRPG “Nerd Nite” Presentation … in which I talk about the experience of presenting at the monthly geek get-together, and what I learned trying to conduct a seminar.

Finally, I’m excited to share that I will be making the long road trip from Minneapolis to Toronto to celebrate Breakout Con! … Perhaps I’ll see youse there!

Anyhow, onward to the games, the news, the deals, and beyond!

II. The Sage is Fleeing!

The sage is on the run. Check back next week.

  • [KICKSTARTER] Mythworks announced a new TTRPG for 2-4 players called Time Force. Travel across time to prevent a cataclysm from consuming the world. Encounter quirky challenges, unforeseen consequences, and plenty of humor!

  • Warhammer 40k. I have my own love-hate relationship with the franchise. Its HUGE and EPIC. But the Imperium is also feeling a bit realer than it should nowadays. … That said, if you love the franchise, Cubicle 7 announced a new Horus Heresy RPG!

Tabletop RPG Grants

A Maniacs Insight (Where I quote an adjacent Substack blog)

I love the idea of wounds and called-shots (picking body parts to target) in ttrpgs, because of how gritty it can make combat. But only that - the idea of them.

They are often quite crunchy and make combat much more involved, which is not my cup of tea. So I’ve been cooking on something that (for me at least) allows me to have my cake and eat it.
